Service Dog Awareness Month is an annual observance to raise public awareness around
the valuable services these dogs provide to their disabled handlers. Despite its name,
Service Dog Awareness Month is really less about the dog and more about the unlimited
potential and invaluable contributions those of us who use service dogs to mitigate our
disabilities make to our community. In order for us to realize our full potential and have the
opportunity to make our contributions, Service Dog Awareness Month helps remove the
artificial barriers faced by those of us who use service dogs.
Advocates for service Animal Partners knows awareness is not an annual event but a year
round occurrence . We also know that all rights have responsibilities. The guidance offered
balances the MUTUAL rights and responsibilities of service animal handlers and the
businesses we patronize. Below are table tents for specific industries along with a 1-page
summary of these rights and responsibilities to give to your staff. These tents not only share
important information, they provide a QR code linking to additional resources and our
hotline number to speak with a trained advocate.
The table tents are best printed on card stock and folded according to the instructions so
they stand better. The guidance documents are intended as a double-sided single page.
Each download file also includes ASAP’s informational brochure with additional access
and etiquette tips.
These resources are provided free of charge. If you would like to make a tax-deductible
contribution to support the work of Advocates for Service Animal Partners, we invite you to
support us.
Advocates for Service Animal Partners is a nationwide network of service animal handlers working to solve the challenges we face because of our decision to use a service dog. Just like the disabled community, we are a group of diverse individuals bound together by our common interest of securing, protecting, and advancing the civil rights of those who use service dogs to live full, independent lives. You can join our network by completing the following form. We will never sell your information and you can be removed from our lists at any time.
